Canucks Puck Drop Honoring Rick Rypien
On December 16th, the Courtnall Society for Mental Health had the incredible honor of attending the Vancouver Canucks vs. Colorado Avalanche game, where the focus of the night was on mental health awareness and the importance of open conversations.
The evening featured a special ceremonial puck drop, led by Geoff Courtnall and the Rypien Family, in memory of Rick Rypien—a former Canuck and passionate mental health advocate. Rick’s legacy continues to inspire change, reminding us all that it’s okay to talk about mental health.
Adding to this unforgettable night, the Canucks for Kids Fund made a generous $50,000 donation to the Courtnall Society for Mental Health, helping us continue our mission of supporting grassroots mental health initiatives.
We are deeply grateful for this opportunity to honor Rick, amplify the conversation, and receive such incredible support. Thank you to the Canucks organization, the Rypien Family, and everyone who continues to champion mental health awareness
